They dumpstered bard swarm kiting a few years ago. Bards were just killing entire zones by themselves and the hammer came down. In their current state if a monster is moving they don't take damage from bard dots. Even their first dot at level 2 works that way. You can still do charm kiting stuff.

It's enough plat to sustain a mercenary, buy some food/drink, etc. Getting a fully geared jump to 85 with 1000+ AA is the real boost. I was doing some experimenting with faction and travel for Agnarr and used the plat to buy some invis pots and illusion pots I needed with many platinums left behind.
