I feel less connection and sentiment to people I interact with on the internet than when I discuss books or even video games with people IRL. So, I am not sure about your point.

I find it easier to relate and connect to other people who have read the same books as me than those who have played the same game. I don"t know what that means exactly, but I will throw it out their as evidence that books contain some deeper sentiment than video games. For single player...
