Yep. I was far, far more excited about the game before the most recent trailer. I'm still likely going to give it a try, but I think the trailer let some air out of the hype.

I care a lot less about combat than I do other systems and, most importantly, the narrative. The combat in The Witcher and Mass Effect was dogwater but both of those games were/are amazing. If they can nail character progression and writing, I can accept middling combat.

Fortunately, for you, your naivety got rewarded.
