    Have you tried PC > Bluetooth to confirm the static goes away without the audio line? Reading back a bit, is this the same PC you worked on with the CPU? Did it do the static stuff before you had the problems with the CPU?

    Do you get the static if you use bluetooth from the PC to the speakers? I know you said you dont with the laptop but didnt clarify about the PC. If you don't, I'd make sure you are using a shielded audio cable before trying anything else.
