How often does this happen? More and more adventure packs might start to look daunting to new players as a quantifiable barrier of entry. Random packs is random, so you can't put a finite dollar amount on how much it would cost you get a good amount of cards from vanilla and GvG. I wonder if...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

Most of our testing is automated. We might have an advantage because using our product can be automated(static analysis). Part of my job is to monitor those results, investigate failures, and write bugs for devs. This is the boring part. I do like working on the code for the test system though.

    Ex Machina

This movie's soundtrack, at times, made me want to play Mass Effect again. Good movie, just disappointed how light it was on the actual science stuff. I thought this was a good way to tell *a* story. Maybe a story about a manipulative captive(and captor) with a little twist. But a story...

What's the alternative though? It's even more inefficient to have them comb through your code to understand how it should and should not work.

    Hearthstone

I like the sequence I got last night. Doing pretty good on a paladin deck, 7-1. Got a mage, survive his flamestrike and go on to win. Requeue and get the same guy again. My first thought is that this shouldn't happen, it's unfair because we know some of eachother's cards. 3 fucking...

I wouldn't mind that. We're a smaller company with maybe 15 people working on the product itself, so the devs are usually responsive to test problems. But I'd like anything that would let me get my hands on code more often. I'm good at testing, but it can be boring by itself.

Keep in mind I was interviewing for a test engineering position. I was given 4 small executables and was told how they *should* act. They wanted me to write a script that would automatically assess whether they adhered to the expected behavior. Bonus points for thorough and creative...

Most of the coding during my last set of interviews was done on my computer at home. It was timed but I could use whatever resources I wanted to solve the problem.

I have a BS in Computer Engineering. I agree with your stipulation about job security. Anything directly related to hardware seems closely tied to market trends and consumer whims. Of course, any industry would experience this, but it seems especially punishing in computer hardware. I've...

Depends on the company. The places I've worked, when team shuffling or downsizes(as in, layoffs) occur, you will get stonewalled asking for more money. Usually a better idea to look for a new job.

I had the same problem as priest. One velens and one pw:shield. Lost every game to board clears. I'm not entirely sure those type of spells are balanced. But at least they haven't introduced more, beyond sheep.

Yellows are fine for amulets until you find a legendary that rolls at least almost as well and has a useful secondary affix. Most dots don't stack. I believe there are exceptions like the firestarter rune for AC. It just resets the duration, you don't lose any damage. They hopefully...

DH amulets are Hellfire or a well rolled immunity. BoTT, for DH, is procced with something else. Polar Station sentries. A teammate. Thunderfury templar. Something like that. Pain enhancer's bleed does not stack with itself.

There's several resplendant and regular chests in the cow level. I think the chest the queen is guarding is guaranteed to drop a few legendaries. Not bad if you use gloves of worship and nemesis bracers too since it's packed full of shrines.

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

No, you need two Unity and an invulnerability trinket for the follower. Assuming you don't have that, all of these are better than Skull Grasp: anything. Zx88 made a good suggestions about the ancients. They are inconsistent as a fury gen. If you can get your fury elsewhere(don't...

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

Skull Grasp is useless. A well rolled rare is better. Replace it with Unity, should get you at least 5-6 more levels. At that point, you just need ancient everything. IK/WW hybrids feel too slow to me. Too fury starved as well. BK + WW is probably the best set at this point, even non season.

I've never been on the other side of an interview, how do you judge whether work is interesting or not? My current job as a test engineer has a fair amount of drudgery, especially now since we're in heavy testing for release. But the times I get to work on the testing system, which is mostly...

So give the guy a slight edge in comparison to the other candidates. If his knowledge and experience is superior because of the side projects, that should come through in the interview even if they go unmentioned. My point is that it is a silly arbitrary distinction and will likely eliminate...

You have to assume a special level of stupidity when reading teck's posts. I knew he was asking about Witcher 3, that was just the wrong thread to ask such a question. And it was. Especially in such a manner that he did. I was guessing it might be the wrong subforum because I rarely see...

Got my current job through a staffing agency, though I'm kinda mad about it. Admittedly, I'm not sure if I would have found the posting without their blatant reposting/spamming. But throughout most of the interview process, I was under the impression that my employer was working with the...

Embedded software and hobby electronics are loosely related to circuit design and layout. If you do the latter, you more than likely know a lot about the first two, but doing them in your free time isn't going to help you decide how many fingers to put on that NAND gate for the Cu45LP library...

Whatever their reasons, justified or not, I had the experience of an entry level for that industry. I guess my point was that even companies that offer entry level positions, they don't make it easy to fill. Will I jump ship if my previous job opens up? Maybe, just something you have to suss...
