Vaniki would have been a lot more successful if it launched in classic or even Kunark. We know there is an appetite for “oldschool” challenge because P99 hits like 2k players, or more during “launch”. Darkpaw just needs to offer a real classic option without a bunch of bullshit.

This launch was a real rush. I did want to hang myself trying to lead a raid through the MPG trials when it took 15 minutes to zone, half the raid would DC, then you are logging back in to the wrong pick... Server population around 9-11pm est must have been wild.

DPG never ceases to disappoint.

From the data I saw Yelinak pop has grown steadily since launch. Yesterday it had just a little under 2x the pop of Mischief (total, not concurrent). Looks pretty in line with your numbers though.

All the fun stuff gets nerfed. Same as it ever was.

The casuals ounumber raiders massively, and they are at their greatest numbers in classic. When I was doing casual stuff on Aradune I was amazed at how many people I met who were just there to have fun for a few weeks, had no real guild intentions or had never done a TLP before.

Which guild killed them?

The big encounter at 55 is Emp Ssra for the Luclin achievement. You can’t bind anywhere nearby so you need to beat it “legit”. I assume it would be done by charming the High Priest and basement undead mobs and kiting the Emp adds in the basement. To tank Emp you need tanks to have at least 2900...

Tanking these big mobs gets viable at 55 with defensive. Kael is a unique zone, not many other spots with raid mobs where you can also bind. The name “Bind Rush” was pretty much created as an homage to this encounter.

Mischief is higher than any server except Yelinak. On Wednesday Yelinak had a population 20% higher than Mischief.

A lot of people probably quit Mischief around the time Spite Golems were dropping 20 god/dragon items per kill not realizing it’s just double or rarely triple loot now and has been for ages. Mischief is likely to be more popular in all metrics than Yelinak during equivalent points in the timeline.

I wonder if he just goes around telling randoms about this. Afaik Darth started 1-2 other TLP guilds since his time on LJ. For some reason none of them were ever successful.

Yelinak is a bit less than 2x the daily total login and unique login count of Vaniki so far.

That’s wild, it seems almost impossible that someone hasn’t hit 50 by now, it’s like 45 hours into the server.

Bind Rush has knocked out some raid targets already, they cleared the classic raid mobs like 10 hours into launch. How is Yelinak doing? Who’s hit 50? Any raid mobs downed yet? I haven’t seen much on the forums.
