If you want lower temps I went the route of looking at undervolting and did both the vid card (lower voltage curve in MSI AB + higher cock freq) and the CPU via PBO2 undervolting (along with setting a temp limit). Lowered the temps in both cases a good bit. Vid Card guide CPU Guide (youtube)

Double thanks for the assist. Took me a min as I had to figure out how to create a bootable WinPE drive to do the conversion but went off without a hitch.

Yeah the GPT partition could be it. I had to enable CSM in order to boot so if it needs to be disabled that'd be the culprit. Looks like there's a tool to do the conversion so I'll take a peak at that. Thanks for hte heads up!
