The only other thing that is different is a little over a month ago I had an outdoor outlet installed by my well pump because I had to get a water softener and aerator. It was done by an electrical company, but that can still go south. The soonest I can get an electrician over is Monday, and I'm...

Can there be a scenario like this where the breakers can affect other breakers like that? My bedroom has my PC, and I'd have that and the light on all day with no issues. But since the family came over, when the other breakers start tripping, my bedroom will trip out if I have the light + pc on...

I bought a house last year, brand new construction. Had no issues with breakers until this weekend when the family came down from Jersey. If certain lights or appliances are used too long the breakers start tripping, and when you reset them they trip right out again until you wait awhile...

Yeah I always got jealous thinking of those people who invested in the decades version of amazon, netflix, google, etc. Then I realized it'll never happen if you never play the game, just be disciplined enough to not chase anything if you lose your play money and leave your safe bets alone.

Yeah I read about MMM as well which helped me get to where I am today. Can't let the market do work for you if you don't put any money into it. I probably save about 50% of my income, putting it into maxing out my IRA, 401k, and then the rest into checking/brokerage. I also stopped paying extra...

I guess we're doing our end of year success stories so I'll post mine. Up until October of this year I did the basics that everyone should still do - Max out my Roth IRA contribution and 401K contributions and put them in an index fund. Mostly SP500 but started doing 50/50 SPY/QQQ. I did want to...

On one hand, I tend to say let people do what they fuck they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. On the other hand, people shouldn't be doing drugs until they turn themselves into vegetables that now need to be cared for like a literal baby for the rest of their lives thus being a...

This is probably why I jumped so quickly into the spac game. My normal plays for the last two months were losing their premium or were losing my confidence. I had weekly puts on PINS/AMD that I haven't rolled up. I also didn't like how the vaccine news caused a "shift to value!" trend that...

Got assigned SNAP from last weeks put at 51$. It dipped down to 48 yesterday but back up to 51 in early market after Goldman Sachs gives them a price target of 70$, thanks Goldman! I was aiming to sell them once they bounced back up but I'm thinking I'll hold now until their next earnings on 2/2/21.

Yep, Contrafund has an expense ratio of 0.85 while the SP fund has an expense ratio of .015. It may not seem like much, but in the world of annual compounding returns even 0.1% can make a world of difference over a few decades.

So this works out for several reasons: 1. Interest rates are at historic lows and will be for awhile. It'd be one thing if we were talking about mortgages at 5-6% but I got my last two mortgages at 3.75% and after one year refinanced my current one down to 2.75%. At that point there's no reason...
