Cloudkill is for sure the most annoying spell in BG2 as it remains deadly throughout the entire game. That said wands of Cloudkill are the best items you can get early on as they allow you to take out Firkraag via the Room Breach Method. Which was always lol.

Playing Shapeshifter Druid is a solid choice in BG2 as well because they can get stats from holding items in addition to their Dire Werewolf form. So you get the whole nine. A powerful and durable melee form and all of the big dick priest spells.

POE's innovation is in making the inherent grindy nature of ARPG end game into something compelling to continue sinking hundreds of hours into. Diablo 2 was able to do this as well. POE Maps is the most innovative thing they have ever done. Fight me.
