Perfect will probably never happen for you in Grim Dawn. But very good happens plenty. I'm just not a fan of being able to turn an item that drops at level 20 into some insane item via upgrading when max levels is much higher and harder to find good gear at.

Well, there are other ways to handle that. Grim Dawn has a great gearing system in that regard with Monster Infrequents and double rares. The problem I have with what you were describing was being able to upgrade gear that drops at level 20 and it being better to try and farm at that level...

Raiding should be self contained outside of the first tier of an expansion, where you'll need some gearing up in other ways. Everything else should be fun, compelling and interesting in its own way. Instead they force people to get stupid currencies, reputation, "artifact power" that they need...

I'd expect updates to be slow since they only have (had?) 1 developer. Even if they used their boat loads of cash to hire a bunch of new team members it would take a little bit to get them up and running. So probably gonna be slow for a while.
