There have been a couple 'hardcore' MMORPG kickstarters recently (Divergence: Online, Trials of Ascension). They were pretty miserable failures. Brad better be showing something legit.

SOE's involvement could be any number of things really... Could be Forgelight or other tech... Maybe scrapped assets from earlier versions of EQNext... They might even publish Brad's MMO if conditions are right. Who knows? But given Brad & Smed's history, I think it's safe to assume the two...

The only movies that should get remade are ones that were produced before technology was at a level to do the visuals justice, or when a movie of a recognizable IP was made so terribly that it needs to be remade. Besides those situations, come up with an original fucking idea.

The first 3 LOTR movies were absolute trash as far as capturing the feeling of the original works. The Hobbit movies, IMO, have been far more successful in this regard.

It was never the goal of these films to capture the themes of the books... Only to replicate the setting and to some extent, the plot. Hell, what percentage of people who go see this movie have even read the books, and of those, what percentage understood its themes? This was a big budget...

Sooooo not to rain on anyone's negativity parade... But that snowman was made out of voxels with the snow material and the smoothing tool (confirmed) by a player. It's not a placed pre-made prop. We've always known that there was a lot of freedom in Landmark, and I think this quite nicely...
