    Your problem is that everything you say is in the context of the rank and file of company workers where it works exactly like you're talking about. For some reason you think this applies all the way to the top when it doesn't.

    As the hire you do not know what other executives are getting paid. As the hiring executive you do not sit down and compare what you are offering (that the hire agreed to) to other executives in the organization. Not sure why so many of you are missing that.
