Yeah, I play in a single FF league. I picked up a random magazine on the way to the draft that said "fantasy football" and "cheatsheet" on it. Ran my whole draft off that. People sneering and laughing at how I was the only one there without a laptop, just scratching names off a list, and...
I just had an old friend of mine who has never had ANY exposure to One Piece watch the first episode of this and describe it as...
"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World.... WITH PIRATES!"
And I can't disagree with that as a synopsis of all of One Piece.
I think you're overestimating how much in movies and TV I consume.... But OK, some people will notice in around a year. Assuming digitally generated actors and scripts aren't rolling out by then.
So... am I the only one who really hasn't noticed a single significant change to their existence with all of them on strike for what? Better part of a year now?
That fact made for what I though was one of the funniest moments in the JL animated run.... Lex Luthor manages to pull a body swap with Wally West so you have the guy who played Lex on TV playing the flash, acting like Lex..... Sorry for lowres..
This is a fresh win11 install (or well.. whatever the factory image install was). I noticed that most of those threads are 2 years old. Wonder if I'm going to need to revert to 2 year old drivers. heh
Not yet, That's starting to look like an option, but I will go last resort on that. Tonight I'm going to cook up a nice fresh linux thumb drive, boot it off that and see how it negotiates as to isolate if it's a windows 11 OS issue.
If linux also only goes to 100mbps, then I might box it...
OK. Had a nice windfall (read, big commission check) at work and decided @Mrs. Haus needed a new gaming rig (Keeping the woman who makes your dinner happy is a key to life folks...) So I picked her up this one :

Runs like a...
As I am getting ready to buy land out away from town and start building I am in need of a truck and I'm at the "looking for something built 20-30 years ago that simply refuses to die" end of the spectrum. heh
One reason I'm looking for partially wooded land is that in Texas if you have wooded land and it's known that deer/boar/turkey/whatever feed and cross the land during hunting seasons you can get an agricultural tax exemption for "wildlife habitat preservation" so long as you can show that you...
TBH, A lot of the land I'm seeing that meets my goal profile (20+acres, partially wooded (for hunting), with electric at the road/accessible, preferably water at the road (bonus if it ALSO has a well), bonus points for a pond) Seem to have some type of "hunting cabin/barndominium/single wide" on...
Even the crappy version of Flashpoint they did on the CW show was better than this steaming heap. And Grant Gustin was also a far more likable Barry. (who honestly acted more like the Wally West Flash, but that's a comic nerd nit pick) As for why he was better... I will credit to a 50/50...
Again, you seem to think I want to go "back to those days"....
For me it's more of a semi-blackpilled factor of knowing we're heading into a dystopian future, and just trying to figure out which dystopian variant we're gonna land on. My current bet is somewhere between Shadowrun and Brazil...
Make no mistake, I don't have any given level of erectile desire for such an outcome. I just see it as very probable in the long term. We're seeing the first of corporations getting big enough to start pushing back on governments, and unfortunately they will only get bigger over time since...
I'm always wondering at what point these multinational companies are going to take the fight to the government by saying "We manufacture these things in Taiwan/China , ship them direct, they never touch US soil, what authority do you have to tell us what we can't do outside the US?" And the...
I agree with you, but I think it's a time frame question.
I think that between now and real "Weimar style" action inflation we're going to get a period where the fed will THINK it has things under hand, and/or the markets tank to the point they have no option but to try more QE and low rates...
I'm the same boat as many of you involving the house. it's 3% and I make more than 3% just dropping it on the SPY (as mentioned). It's "cheap money".
The investment path makes sense, but also I have the land goal. I have been eyeing ITOT as the target probably for broad market investment...
OK, So it's once again time to bounce ideas off strangers on the internet...
I'm about to hit one of those windfalls you hit in sales (full disclosure, I'm a technical head paired with an account manager selling corporate IT stuff). I landed one of those "you made your number on this one deal...
The one I got states it's ATSC 3.0, I need to figure out which local channels are broadcasting on ATSC 3 which I can do watching the app on the box, but haven't validated fully yet. Just happy to not have run cables. Not to mention right now it's running on a moderately cheap non-powered...
As others have said, the chicken is a little better than average. They do brine all their chicken for at least 24 hours before cooking, so it tends to be really tender. Strangely, if you have left over fingers and reheat them later they taste oddly more like turkey than chicken in my...
Nowhere else to post this, so here we go random strangers on the interwebs... I have a dear friend who I honestly consider probably the closest person to me outside my wife.
She married a great guy, they're one of those couples everybody else wishes they could be like. They're both probably...
So....
Got the newest HD Homerun box (Quad tuner) and it was set up and running in under 10 minutes. Every device can get to it and use it. Only remining hitch is getting it to insert it's channels into the combined channel layout on my LG Linq based TV (Which is a thinly skinned Google TV)...
As someone who works for a company who is balls+ deep into SFDC, and came from a small company where I was the cursed soul who had to be the SFDC admin and deployment lead I can tell you. If it can do mediocre without requiring multiple FTEs to care and feed for it, then it's a better deal than...
It's why I have shifted. These kids are getting inundated with all the training they need on the technologies. I'm teaching them the "Here's how being a customer facing Systems Engineer will work.." and honestly more talking to them about the psychology of working with and sometimes around...
This is a close relative to my experience mentoring new people coming into my company for my type of work. When I refer to when i got started in Cybersecurity I have to mentally frame it as "This is a time before half of you were born (1998)". If I talk about when I got started in IT in...
I dunno about it outdoing MI7.. but it's already ahead of Indy.
More surprising, it's in the top 20 for the year worldwide, and hasn't released anywhere outside the US.
