There's a german one as well. Some of the cards I haven't seen in the M20 list, so I presume they only occur in that deck?

Honored. I don't know if the Eternal Quintessence (which requires Revered) is going to be available. Otherwise, it's an Azshara trip for every MC run.

Most of the modern game design is increasingly based around the same design mechanics: Daily rewards that try to instill the habit of playing the game Gacha rewards (randomized rewards with rare valuables) Extrinsic rewards (lots and lots of cosmetics and fluffs) Progression bars (lots of...

And that, basically, describe why I hit the cancel button. Because once I'd done all the chores (at that point, they were chores), I didn't want to play anymore. I used to do some pet/achieve/xmog hunting. For the second half of Uldir, I didn't do any of that. On raid days, I raided. On...

Which you could get as fast as you wanted to. That's what we mean by artificial time gating vs "normal time gating". Classic time gating is "spend 40 hours getting the rep tokens. Want a chamber pot or are you reasonable?". Modern time gating is "spend 40 days playing 1 hour every day. Have a...

The XP cap is apparently calculated so that you get exactly 3 packs per week, like before, but only if you cap every day. If you can't play every day to cap... you lose. It doesn't reward the people who play every day, it punishes those who play mostly on weekends. Plus, of course, you no...

The interesting bit was still the new "Season Pass" mechanic. Looks like they're copying more standard F2P mechanisms. I haven't understood all of it. Apparently, you have... two season pass levels already? - Free pass = earn packs of current expansion every 2 levels (this sounds like a better...

As an aside, if you like the Reborn series, the 2nd book is ongoing on Royalroad (until it goes on Kindle Unlimited, which require the authors to limit "free content" to 10% of the book max).

The paranoid think that anytime a company has to add stuff to a subscription, it probably means the subscription numbers are in trouble. The realist think that this actually means the beancounters at least think they're in trouble.

At this point, I don't expect to come back ever. The two previous times, I knew more or less when I would be coming back (expansion). This time, unless they seriously blow their load at the Blizzcon, not going to bother. I might as well click uninstall, so that the launcher doesn't attempt to...

Personally, I hate the alternate card "art". Including the glass-stained versions. What I particularly hate is the fact that every deck you make needs to be adjusted, as this revert to the default. Still grinding lightly. Probably not enough to make a real difference in terms of collections...

Why? You don't get the debuff if you use random LFG. The only griefing that can go on is if you get a direct invite, and in this day and age, the only people who will invite you specifically for a group are either your guildmates (in which case you can yell on the discord, and they can't really...

Very basically this. The point is, it started when they went to use ratings instead of flat % on items, because "this makes the item grow more powerful over time" (which still happens when you're at max level: every time you increase your stats, the power of haste/crit/mastery/etc increases)...

At one point, they should realize that their scaling system they're so proud of is causing more problems than it solved. Scaling as a solution to implement timewalking raid/dungeons worked. Scaling as the global path to leveling does not.

Caught up on reading, series binging, youtube slumming, and surprisingly little gaming (I tried MTG Arena, but the permanent slap in the face when you're noob and don't want to P2W is not motivating). The point is, if you're looking toward Classic, resubbing for Modern "while waiting" is a...

    World of Warcraft: Classic

This is probably the only part of non-vanilla I'd keep in a Classic line for WoW. Allow paladins and shamans in the other faction. Just ditch every new race and class that come with the pipeline: no Draenei crashing next to Kalimdor, no High Elves succumbing to magic craze; they simply remain...

    Well, now what?

Macroing combat-related skills can simply be negated by requiring one to be in combat "with an appropriate enemy". The macro problem rears its head when you're talking about non-combat skills (example: Fishing). The "appropriate enemy" clause is to avoid the "I aggro a lvl 1 bunny who does less...

Not just that, but by now, their 4-raid design and titanforging and whatnot necessitates a gear reset EVERY CONTENT PATCH rather than every expansion. We started the expansion at, what, 300 ilvl? We're at 475 cap? (no idea, I've not kept up with the patches since I unsubbed)

    World of Warcraft: Classic

About everyone knows that going TLP route is a mistake, since you end up with the game the players left to play on your Classic server. Each expansion will simply drop the number of players, and I expect most of the diehard would bail when Cataclysm land. The real question is: how much people...

There's basically a bunch of different "skill systems" out there: Unlimited: The Ultima Online model: pick any number of skills, increase skill by use (until cap) Pool: The Asheron's Call model: you unlock a number of skill based on points (earned by leveling), increase skill by use Classed...

Unfortunately, it's the one that is in line with the current Modern WoW design trajectory. The one that gave us "level squish". And they will not make the suggested leap, because "locking" content behind specific bars (quest lines) is something they're against these days. The only bar to content...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

They can't. The only reason you need a level squish is that they simply removed every single level reward, and only left the wrong bits. The original model had spell/skill ranks. You did repurchase a new rank every 10-16 levels, which made you feel like you progressed, since with enough spell...

A few people said it, but the "right" way would be to branch WoW Classic. Run WoW Classic as Vanilla, and after Phase 6, announce the first expansion to WoW Classic... The Shores of Northrend.
