Yeah, I like more the "damaged guy who means well" vibe. But they're doing what they can to make us straight up hate him.

Oh, it's DEFINITELY not for everyone. One reason I liked it being tucked away on DC Universe where it could just be what it is. I'm fearful that now moving into the HBO Max fold it will be pushed to be more mainstreamable.

I would certainly hope so. As someone who did read a good bit of his run with it, and understanding how he was the king of embracing the weird for it. This definitely feels right to me.

The fact that they took the time to film this and insert it into an episode is one of the reasons I believe we truly don't deserve anything this great....

I would wholly believe if soon after the initial looting/rioting/arson a lot of business owners who had insurance and maybe were "on the bubble" financially decided to let some "jewish lightning" strike. Since they knew nobody would effectively come investigate to disprove any claims they submit.

@Mrs. Haus has a subscription for DCU. She just got a thing where for a minor $4.99 a month add on you can ALSO get HBO Max... So I think the initial "transition them over" phase is on.

That's the beauty of this show... it's constantly showing us the things we never knew how much we REALLY needed to see on TV. And this episode was the best of the season so far since they managed to have individual characters progress, without it feeling like we were trying to track 5 different...

OK..... The first three episodes have been good, but this whole "Let's have 2-3 different stories going on at once" is getting tiresome.. fast....

I think they're deliberately stringing out the "reluctant heroes" bit plus the "coming together as a team" bit(regardless of the scene in season 1. heh). As there's more interesting storytelling opportunities in it. For instance, just this season you're seeing Elastic Girl finally want to...

Liked the season finale, will be interesting to see how the write their way out. Although I assume the out was already in plan. My personal bet is that there won't be retribution on Gizmo because none of them will remember who he actually was.

Well at least we found where the DVR hid the other episodes, now to see the ACTUAL start of the season.. heh

Why the Lightning ALWAYS GOTTA BE BLACK?!?

Well, by this weekend @Mrs. Haus and I should be caught up, so I do dearly hope you're right as I do love the series.

Around 4 episodes in on this season and so far it's "meh" for me. Vat of Acid was really solid though. I hope they used the train episode to get all the "meta" out of their system for the season. I also worry that maybe it's one of those things where there's little to no way of them...

So one of the only watchable characters is going to , at best, be halfheartedly recast. I suspect they will just write him off as "he's off chasing Sue". Which also sucks as it was the only of the "romance" storylines which held any real interest to me.
