    Homeland

The series, as a whole, is still better than most network television. I've enjoyed every season, but S1 and S4 were by far the best.

    Watchmen

It could take place before the events of the movie. Not sure if I could stand 10 hours of blue wang, though.
  3. ShakyJake

    Limitless

Enjoyed the second episode. Ratings improved over the pilot which is impressive. Very likable lead and good humor to boot.

Blindspot--Jaimie Alexander on NBC this fall

This feels exactly like Blacklist. Some chick with a mysterious past helps government agency hunt bad dudes. She's hot, though. I don't usually like tatted up female bods, but it works on her.

    Fear the Walking Dead

See, that's the problem I have with the show so far. I cannot fathom how slow moving zombies could in any way pose a threat to military personnel armed to the teeth. And, honestly, I don't think the writers do either because of how they didn't show what happened during those fire fights. All...

    Supergirl

I watched the pilot months ago. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Great fight scenes ala Justice League Unlimited. Actress fits the part too. Very cute but without being overly sexualized.

    The Jim Gaffigan Show

The priest is definitely my favorite character.
  8. ShakyJake

    Limitless

Not the best pilot in the world, but I enjoyed it. Although I'd put his brain to figuring out the grand unification theory rather than solving murders.

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

Okay, so a friend and I picked up PS4 Diablo 3 since it was on sale recently. Haven't played it previously. Back in our teens we both obtained a "Nagelring" legendary drop. Then I started wondering why bosses were being insta-gibbed and realized it was due to the ring's lunatics exploding...

    Longmire

I don't know what is, but Katee Sackhoff really does it for me in this show. Maybe it's the ponytail and tight jeans. For whatever reason I really didn't pay much attention to her in BSG (probably overshadowed by Tricia Helfer).

    Easiest Microsoft Exam.

I've successfully taken the Microsoft 70-480 Javascript and HTML 5 exam. I wouldn't say it's "hard" but the questions often try and trick you. If know you Javascript, HTML, and Ajax syntax then you should be able to eliminate the obviously incorrect answers. There's a 70-480 Exam Ref book...

    Longmire

Series was canceled by A&E at the end of it's 3rd season but was picked up by Netflix. Season 4 was released yesterday. I've only watched the first episode, but already the plot feels more exciting than past seasons.

Right, you can't call the .Exists() method on a null object.

Blunt Talk starring Patrick Stewart on Starz

And he looks really good for his age. He could slip back into his Starfleet uniform and I'd bet you could barely tell the difference.

    Fear the Walking Dead

    No, Labor Day break.

COULDN'T care less god damn it.

    Tyrant

Yeah, I enjoyed this season immensely. They can still go the "absolute power corrupts absolutely" angle with Barry, assuming the series is renewed. However, Tuesday's finale can act as a decent close to the series.

    Rick and Morty

"Hey man! What the hell? That was my daughter's pediatrician!" I liked how they felt the need to "disguise" themselves as aliens when, in fact, they looked completely different from the world's inhabitants. 9/10 episode.

    Naked and Afraid

I realize they only show us what they want to show, but almost every time we saw the six person group they were lying around. I would say, "Hey, you four, break off in pairs and go find food. THAT IS YOUR JOB. Find food." The other two can get water, maintain the fire, etc. it just seemed...

    Under the Dome-CBS

Sounds like they will wrap things up. Terrible show, but it evolved into a love-to-hate it type of thing.

    The Last Ship

And another thing is I inherently don't trust the president just because of the actor. He's played a sleaze ball in Mad Men and Homeland. Don't trust him here either.

Have any of you guys heard of testers writing unit tests for the developer? There's a team here that does this and it just feels wrong to me. It's as if the developer is too lazy to write tests so he's getting someone else to do it.

    The Last Ship

WTF. This last episode was fucking stupid. "Oh noes the gas leak is in the main line!" Cut to an aerial view of the oil rig -> explosion -> commercial break -> everyone back on the Nathan James. And fucking killed my girl too. God damn it.

Zoo (starring James Wolk and Billy Burke) [CBS]

Okay, let me preface this by saying this is NOT an amazing series or anything. But god damn it can be funny as hell -- not sure if it's intentional or not. I really haven't determined if the series is taking itself seriously or not. Although, after last night's rat episode I'm thinking it's...

    The Whispers (ABC)

Get canceled, probably. I hope they can wrap things up and resist the urge to do a full on cliffhanger. It's not a great show, but I've been enjoying it. Which brings to mind another show which I do not think a thread exists for...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

Well, years ago, our (now) parent company bought two little companies that produced the same type of product. The application I had been working one had the smallest user base (and was mostly oUS) but had to be kept alive due to existing contracts. Contracts have now expired for US clients and...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

Well, my wish came true. The company sold our ASP.NET WebForms application to some unsuspecting company. This came with a large reduction of the engineering staff since we're no longer developing two products. Fortunately I wasn't one of the devs let go. Now, the other product is actually...
