Hold back/brake and it lets you look down a little, if you look at the pad or landing beacon you'll see little crosshairs on it. Also if you just hit land over the pad it'll drop you down on a guided path.

Depends on what the resource prices in your system are. Go to a trade station, look for items with gold stars next to them. Those items sell way above galactic average within that star system.

Performance got a lot better when I changed max fps to 90. Still some slowdown though especially in the menus. Slowdown and pop-ins when entering a planet are unlike anything I get on PS4. Edit - This is unplayable atm. Back to PS4 for me. Voxels + shit performance reminding me of EQ Landmark...

Game runs better on my PS4 atm than it does with my GTX 660, 1080p medium settings. Hell, even runs better than the 720p settings.

You can end up fighting a lot on planets with frenzied sentinels or rich in resources. The more I play the more I've ended up fighting both on foot and in space. Ship isn't up to snuff for dogfighting yet though so I still avoid it. Grenades > floating and dog sentinels. Haven't seen any...

Probably the only way, since the game doesn't give you a continue/load/start new game option when you start. Just jumps right in.

^^ known issue and something I have yet to see a response from the devs on. The hangup seems to be that you never find the recipe for antimatter. If you can find it randomly while exploring you'll probably get the Atlas notification shortly after.

Just got a warp cell from a save point canister requiring an atlas pass. Keep that in mind if you don't feel like hunting down resources. Also just opened a pumpkin looking plant, had some kind of pearl in it and picking it up was an immediate 3 star + combat sentinel deployment.

Go find inventory upgrades. That's part of the progression. This isn't a building game. You are a traveller and are referred to by NPCs as such. Devs said base building is coming in a future update but I expect it to be no more than extra storage.
