ToTA was an excellent league mechanic in that it was very rewarding if you wanted to do it and you could buy literally everything it dropped without every needing to step foot in it if you hated it

I recommend starting as a Summon Zon and playing it like a caster (use FCR and +skills gear, forget about shooting a bow yourself). That will be the easiest way to get into maps and trade for gear. Also, use an Act 4 Dark Mercenary, he casts amp damage. You can hire them at Tyrael in A4
