I agree. While I didn't play the beta, I did play 1.0, and even with a PS3 controller because I dug it in FFXI. The game just felt like it had no real cohesion. Vanguard felt more complete. FFXIV 1.0 just felt like a test bed for failed ideas at launch.

As far as population goes there's currently 3 copies of Imperial Fleet running on Prophecy of the Five, if moontalyle's numbers are correct, that's 500+ people just in fleet.

F2P has seen a significant population boost. At least leveling up through Taris, there have been 2, if not 3 copies of zones during prime time. Some of them supporting 175-200 players each. Yesterday Dromund Kaas on Prophecy of the Five had over 400 people on DK alone. A similar situation...

Yes. You can also play characters between PC and PS3 with the same account but you will need to buy separate copies of the game. Unless you already bought the PC version then you will just need to get a PS3 copy. Can't wait to play this in my recliner!

While I can't say I'm keeping any kind of tabs on this I know it has been in development for quite a while, longer than I would have expected for what at the time, I considered to be a wow clone. I googled it and it looks like it was initially revealed in August 2011. I'm sure to try it out.
