Making so many of these types of choices, the removal of aspects of the UI modding, nerfing exp gain into the ground, when it's so close to release is one of those giant red flags people should pay attention to. These are decisions to be made several months before release, presumably before any...

    EQN:Landmark Beta Starts March 26th!

Aside from the lack of caves they've hit on a large portion of the Phase One stuff and they never promised all of it would make it in before Beta. Need to get in this weekend and get my templates made. Been lazy in that regard.

    SWTOR

Actually it's 1500 CC total, which is three months worth of subscription CCs. I agree, it's a brilliant move from a monetary standpoint. I mean, Ebon Hawk is already their most populated server in primetime, and the roleplayers are going to eat this up.

It's a form of content and they aren't charging for it so even if there's an off cycle on heavy stuff like Operations, Flashpoints, PvP maps or GSF stuff I can live with that. But even with stuff like GSF they've managed to surround it with the "story" of the game so I'm sure they have something...

Latest news is that the Wheedon signing means Tony Romo will be out the door in 2015. How do people end up getting paid for something so lazy? "Boss says I need clicks. Let's talk about the Cowboys!"

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It can certainly not be a megaserver tech issue and still be related to the fact that they're throwing everyone on a single server. What they have is a volume problem. The more people that run through an area, the more likely a quest will reach a point where it breaks. The challenge they have is...

    Archer

Last night was best episode of the season so far. It amazes me how much the team doesn't give Archer credit for being the badass he is, though admittedly he usually does something to qualify those notions. I hope this means they've moved away from Pam as a focus though.

FTFY. Look, I'm just as guilty as the next person of liking a game that might not be very good. I did SWG from very early closed Beta, when it actually qualified as an Alpha given the state it was in, and TESO reminds me very much in its current state as SWG did right before release. I even...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Jesus Fuck... I dont' even... The ENTIRE PURPOSE behind a Beta is to find and catch bugs like the one where quests break the longer the server stays up. Then, the company has to take those findings and fix them for RELEASE. Which it doesn't appear Zenimax Online is interested in doing. People...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

That looks exactly like a list I made when DAoC was about 9 months old where I compared what I liked about it compared to EQ. The list included things like "the jumping animation is much better", or something stupid along those lines. It sounds like someone trying to convince themselves that...

Feels closer to GW2 I think. Positioning is pretty much everything in TERA, and some classes like Lancer take some extra work to make sure uptime on a mob is 100%. I never felt that challenged with TESO but obviously I didn't get that far.
  14. moontayle

    The Elder Scrolls Online

TERA has some good action-based combat, indeed. TESO is traditional masked through the lack of a UI and because you have to click to attack it "feels" like it's action based when it really isn't since most of your damage is done through the skills.

    Disney's "Frozen"

Excellent movie, and yes I thought the singing was overmuch but that's essentially 90% of Disney movies before Pixar became King of the Hill. Frozen and Tangled were actually more along the lines of classic Disney animation films. I don't see it becoming a thing really.

I still don't understand why they're not doing a more traditional Open Beta where they open the floodgates and let people hammer at their hardware for a solid two weeks or more. It's not like they have anything to lose (except sleep for the engineers involved in fixing shit) and the chances of...

Which is why I have to give BW a thumbs up on the new content being created for SWTOR as of late. This is the TESO thread so I won't get into it here though. Been reading this thread since the beta weekend started. I didn't think it was possible but apparently the experience is worse this...

He did get a huge payday. This is, however, the most GM-like decision Jerry has made in a long time. They could get by this year just fine without cutting Ware. Hell, they were $2m under and could have potentially gotten to about $10m without even touching his contract. So the move is surprising...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I will never understand Blizzard. They upped the cadence of releases for MoP and had four major content updates within a year. And once again the wait for an expansion after the last content release is going to be a year. It's like watching a manic depressive in slow motion.

    South Park Stick of Truth

Never felt as if I was missing AE either way. Toward the end the Katana was just about one-shotting everything with the 20% increase on 2h damage strap-on and if you're proactive about stunning enemies prior to battle like I was then the lack of AE isn't even an issue.

If those things exist (and I'm going to have to take your word for it because I'm not that interested in finding out), then I stand corrected. Everytime I turn around there's something that makes me believe this game is a good six months away from being ready for release, not a month. As with most things, the developers will woefully underestimate what the playerbase is capable of achieving. Why do you think SOE is pushing out Landmark in advanced of anything EQ Next? At some point they had an extreme epiphany about the players being their biggest asset and are working to...

I think the RvR will be seriously good at some point but I'm wary about the open ended skill system setup they have going here. This game is a God damned gem if you like South Park. It's the perfect kind of over the top escalation of simple shit that the show is known for, but taken to even more ridiculous heights. I haven't rescued Craig yet but I did a few side quests and got Jesus, Mr. Slave, and the Chinese...

The butthurt is strong in Kinsler. I laughed when I read the ESPN article on his comment. AL West will likely come down to Oakland and Texas again since Seattle still has some major holes, the Angels still have the same people (and problems) from last year, and Houston is in full rebuilding...

It has turned into something like that but TESO does a good job of drawing attention to tired gameplay mechanics and the flaws of bad design decisions. They didn't even go full bore on the questing. Tuco was talking about how he ended up in the one burnt out village and didn't find anything...

Basically this. I think the idea of Skyrim type leveling in an MMO is a novel idea but I'm just really not a fan of how slow going it is, especially at the early levels. You can slow it down later if you want, but that early curve needs to be flattened out a bit. Most games slow down as you get...

1-10 leveling experience is in the running for the worst I've ever been subjected to. I logged out with about four hours under my belt and was halfway through level 6. They either need to flatten the 1-10 curve significantly, or make the Alliance War accessible at level 1. I'm trying to find...
