The difference is the regression on failed upgrade attempts. That alone was enough to make me (and many, many others) quit the game. The gear upgrade grind would be ever-present even without that ridiculous mechanic.

Don't stress your stat/skill distributions. You get the ability to redistribute them as much as you would like about 15 hours in.

Well, horse deaths bar that horse from racing and it also forces horse breeders to level the horse more to offset the penalty to breeding. It's not insignificant and the only way to reset it is a cash shop item.
