Big studios are not going to risk AAA tier funding on unproven ideas. We still get big name games which have some uniqueness to them, think H:ZD or Returnal, but they are just reskins of existing games/mechanics pretty much. There is still plenty of innovation and creativity in indie studios...

I don't think other companies do that. What company has released a new 4X game every 5 years? Stellaris is 5 years old and has been revamped so many times, it may as well have been new games. Since Stellaris they also released CK3 and Planetfall. In my opinion Paradox are one of the good ones.
