BTW: I recommend against throwing away high IV, high value pokemon with bad movesets. You never know when they will rebalance the moves. The game's combat definitely feels like a proof of concept and all this will change.

It's binary in that unless I see some data showing that a Snorlax with zen headbutt is amazing at gyms because it hits as often as lick anyway, I won't spend snorlax candy upgrading one. You're right that it's not binary. A snorlax with lick/hyperbeam is still very good. I'm just saying that...

Ok. I'm either misunderstanding your post or your numbers are off. I'll use the same resource you're using (Charizard | Pokemon GoandPokemon GO Tools | The Silph Road) Let's say you find two charizards simultaneously and are level 20. One has 100% IV and is level 7 and has CP 508. Other...

Its because iv is a spectrum and move sets are almost binary. Either you get a high value primary attack or your pokemon is gimped. A zen headbutt \ earthquake snorlax isnt worth the candy or stardust to upgrade no matter how good its iv is. If its iv was high id keep it though. Caveat...

Pretty weak update. I'm really curious as to what their road map for the game is, but they don't really owe me anything.

I disagree because the stardust cost to level isn't high at low CP values. Would I level a 95% IV, CP100 Charizard over a 90% IV, CP2000, Charizard? No. But if I had a 95% IV, CP500 Charizard vs a 50% IV, CP2000 Charizard, no way would I invest more in the 50% IV charizard. I'd still keep it...

I'm guessing that the more things settle down the more likely pokevision or its successors will start doing tri, quad, 9 searches etc. As in, instead of search once around your desired location they'll search many times all around your location. This, of course, will put additional load on...

Not sure what you're talking about with this. Stardust is absolutely the limiting factor, so you don't want to spend it on low IV pokemon.

No, IV is permanent. But as you level you'll find higher CP values. Your charmander is a very, very good one and you're unlikely to find better anytime soon. But it's worthless without a bunch of charmander candy to evolve it. My recommendation, put 2913 in the charmander's name and keep it...

Good IV rater, uses arc position for it. Pokemon GO Tools | The Silph Road The way I use it, is I take a screenshot of a pokemon, then use a semi-transparent overlay of the arc appropriate for my level onto the image, and use that to determine the exact level.

In dnd terms Imagine that the white circle is the xp, but the individual value are the stats ex str, wiz, int. That level 10, 13 str fighter might be able to wipe the floor with a level2, 18str fighter but once the 18str fighter levels itll be much more powerful.

I have a Nexus5x which should have 2GB of memory. But it seems like PoGo closes itself any time I go to a different app on my phone. I know android tries to close apps to ensure memory is available, but is there anyway to make it less likely to close Pogo?

Yeah the map won't help you level much unless you live Gavinrad style. 94 found pokemon is a lot. I doubt I'll be able to get that much at level 24 without changing my routine. I feel like they've missed the mark with the way they've copied ingress for pogo. There's a lot of ways they can improve it, but I feel like using their trailer as a design example for the game is pretty suitable, so I trust them to do the right thing. In my opinion, city, state, national...

egg IV is individual value. Basically represents how perfect they are. A pokemon with an IV of 50% will have worse stats than one with 100%. 83% is good, not great. But it getting lick is important and it was good enough for me to boost. Now I want to go fuck up some gyms. More info here...

What would really be useful is if this technology was used to discover high-value spawns. Ex: If I knew there was a Dratini spawn in a neighborhood half an hour away, that'd be a fun trip to make.

You're 'supposed' to either wander around hunting them, or run a 60 minute or higher circuit. However, the spawn time decreases to closer to 5 minutes if you lure a stop. Find 4 stops you can hit and you'll probably find other people who collectively lure it. Right now that's the best way to...

As much as I hate the idea of cheating, the idea of people roaming around neighborhoods/parks going to the exact location where a rare pokemon are is better gameplay than camping out on a 3 or 4 lured spawn and just spinning + catching. I'm hoping they move toward a complex, AR-based tracking...
