    How I Met Your Mother

Hmmm, I've had a number of good years watching this show, but this last season is really getting me down. I can't see how anyone could have thought that the 'have the whole last season be the wedding weekend' idea was a good choice. They could have at least made a direct on-screen...

    RUSH - Ron Howard's 1970s F1 Movie

I really liked this film. The recreation of the 70's look and feel was done so well. The color treatment did a lot. Good acting by both leads. Also it was good that they showed both in a good light and told both men's stories. So you could follow both and feel for them.

Yeah I agree that lots listed are legends, so just for discussion: Ross Noble What I find impressive about him is that his act isn't scripted or planned. He just gets up on stage and improvises the bulk of it on the spot. Sure at times it gets all random and confused. But to be able to...

Funny thing was that Gary Larson got some heat over this one: There's a medical condition where some kids heads grow bigger than normal, so someone in the touchy-feely politically correct crowd tried to accuse him of being in-sensitive to the condition. - - - - - - - - Unrelated

And for the first time in Movie History . . . WONT! They still could have used that Honest trailer as the actual one for the film, would have gotten people in.

FYI James Cameron did special effects work on this before he was known. As you can see the head shown here is the size of a . . . hot air Balloon. Hard to think of too many things that describe size well.

Now this is interesting, During construction of the Statue of Liberty a worker doing a handstand on the head. I've never been to Liberty Island. I think that it looks like the 'base' that the statue sits on. But is that right that there are buildings there also. If that's the genuine...

    The Official Guitar Thread

Unless there's some miracle product like some epoxy that can fill the groove in the fret and restore normal use then I'm not sure. Without that then replacing the frets, is really it. If the guitar has a bolt on neck then perhaps buy a whole replacement neck, which might be cheaper in the end...

We entering into some University thesis level stuff here. No I mean it, that someone could write ( actually it's probably already been done ) a thesis studying the relationship that a movie audience member has with the story-teller(s). How much lee-way do we allow them regarding reality. How...

    Godzilla (2014)

Yeah true there's been an image posted in the FSR a few times that shows collections of similar movie posters. The eye close up idea has been used dozens of times, to a stupid high amount. The 1998 Godzilla was one of them.

    Avatar 2 (2020)

Sorry about the confusion here also. And I'm going to sound like a dick saying this too. . . But where I heard the floating mountains explanation (super-conductor) was in the extended edition Blu-Ray, I just did a check and that scene isn't up on youtube or nothing but yeah it's in the...

    What vehicle do you drive?

I was just reading back some pages, this caught my eye. I'm in Australia, I know we pay quite a bit for cars here, heavy tarrifs to help local car producers ( not working too well ) So anyway checked MB Australia website, CLA45 AMG - drive away cost = AUD $94,500 Then I put that into a...

Yeah it was a proper nuclear detonation too. Can't really see much chance of picking through the debris and finding enough usable parts to be able to re-assemble . . . sort of anything.

    Avatar 2 (2020)

I don't know if plot elements that had been in the screenplay, but were changed or dropped before the final version of the film edit, should be seen as priority ( if you get what I mean by priority ) in this discussion. Bought up as trivia, like a side note but not part of the main...

^^^ Shame it's a fake (if it is or isn't) cause that looks totally bad-ass movie poster. I'd see the film based on that poster alone.

There's some logic to the floating mountains. Explained somewhere, can't be bothered looking for it myself But it goes along the lines of unobtainium being some super-conductor, explaining its value. And the super-conductive effect can make them repel each other like magnets (or something) so...

Kill it now!!! If you don't it'll grow into one of these I'm in Australia too. Biggest spider I every saw, the tips of its legs, would have drawn a circle the size of a dinner plate. I got away VERY quick. It was like an instinctive reaction to just move away, without needing any...

    Avatar 2 (2020)

I felt that Avatar wrapped up and finished as a stand alone film. All the main story lines and character arcs were completed. And then they say they will be making a bunch of sequels. Do the humans try to come back?? Well likely, but realistically they would return with knowledge from...
