    Star Trek: Discovery

Dax symbiote would also be pretty fucking old by then. If I recall, they could live for centuries, but they weren't immortal and after a time, they wouldn't be able to be implanted in hosts anymore and they would return to the pools for the rest of their lives.

    Twitch.tv

The thing to keep in mind is Twitch is just responding to the DMCA complaints levied by the music labels, they aren't hunting for this shit on their own. But a musician being DMCA'd by his own label is pretty fucking lul and shows how fucking brain dead they are. Especially if they use...

2 years later... the almost sad state of MMOs in the new era

Right, there are a lot of MMO lite games out there that don’t have monthly subs and rely mostly on micro transactions for cosmetics or p2w shit. Stuff like The Division, Destiny, GTA:O. Hell, even stuff like FO76

    First EverQuest, 3 screenshots

Pretty much. I’m trying to remember a conversation 20 years ago, but the reasoning was there couldn’t be any perceived favoritism and profit. Like even if they spawned some shit to attack people, the crappy coppers you could loot off the corpses could fall under that rule. There was some...

Depends on the server. On Cazic Thule the GMs and guides seemed to always be around, although that is from the perspective of an Uber guild lol. But they used to fuck around a bit. In Vanilla, guide named Melachite put together some home brew mini RP events and used guide powers to make it...

MLB Hot Stove 2020: Congratulations to the nations capital

Pretty much. They weren't going to keep Mookie without offering him a fuckload of money they weren't willing to pay.

Monsters and Memories (Project_N) - Old School Indie MMO

Finding broken game elements frequently becomes a one-off, though, as most dev houses now remove those broken elements once discovered

Horizons always lives in my memory as “most ambitious MMO design document ever”, but the actual game only delivered on like 5%, if that.

    The Fifth Element (1997)

It was out of place, but I think that had more to do with the fact they weren't sure how to create some additional tension at the end in their race against time and give the other characters something to do to save the world. Otherwise, Leeloo would have solved the stone thing right away and...

    Terminator (2019)

Momoa is a good example of success. Got the right roles and even in the movies that underperformed (like Justice League), people tended to like his character so it didn't impact him as much. He is in the new Dune movie.

    Terminator (2019)

It isn't a unique problem to her. History is littered with actors or actresses who had a major hit role and then failed to replicate that same success outside of it. Some are able to make a good living doing steady bit parts, others are smart and invest their boon early and wisely so they have...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019

Got a last second win in Zombie Royale today. There was only 2 humans left. I was able to kill one and become human and all the surviving zombies swarmed the last dude. He died right after I respawned and that clutched the win lol I also got pretty much a solo win in Juggernaut Royale...

Monsters and Memories (Project_N) - Old School Indie MMO

I remember late in Vanilla EQ it got so bad that you could zone into SolB and literally walk all the way to Nagafen's lair without seeing a single mob. People were so desperate for XP they were even killing the fire giants and had FG camps. I remember we used to keep the Azrak and Djinn spawn...

People remember loot in WoW as well. The main thing people remember in a MMO is either overpowered shit or rare status symbol shit. For every cloak of flames or fbss, there were dozens of shit items no one cared about or were marginal upgrades to tide you over and we’re just as soon forgotten...

    Event Horizon (1997)

Going into Dusk til Dawn completely ignorant is a big “what the fuck moment?”. My uncle used to say the moment The club turn into vampires is the exact moment Tarantino ran out of ideas for the film. I mean, it’s kinda true. It is like he had some half finished crime film and then couldn’t...

You have to give the established Playerbase a reason to run it, or it becomes a ghost town. FFXIV’s job setup makes it very easy to level a class, so you see much more people leveling. Square Enix had to keep pumping up the rewards for MSQ Roulette to make established players want to even...

Monsters and Memories (Project_N) - Old School Indie MMO

It does bring up a good point, though: How do you deal with a grouping required game that doesn’t have a healthy enough population for a given level range at any given time? How do you attract new players if your established Playerbase has long since moved past the low level content? The 2nd...

But that also applied to EQ1: People did the most efficient shit, aka camp. In a game with XP loss, there was extremely little incentive to risk losing gains during the leveling process.

Nintendo has always been iron fist. They stuck with carts instead of moving to CDs, because they controlled the production and could demand greater fees from the developers/publishers. They were the ones who tried to challenge the rental market on games (and lost) - they wanted to ban video...

lol what? I have literally never watched a streamer for whatever music they played that wasn't the game's actual music. I could give a fuck and I seriously doubt it impacts the music industry in any meaningful way. You can't exactly turn it on like a Youtube or Vimeo video and listen to just...

Theater Chain Death Watch? Chapter 11s inc

Before they nerfed it, in WSG as a gnome I stacked the world enlarger engineering item with the shrink potion. Gnome was like the size of an ant after doing that, so I’d grab flag and hit rocket boots and all you would see is a tiny trail of flames as I ran off with the flag lol

Factions are just memberberries and them trying to force “war in Warcraft!!!!” Even though the vast majority of the Playerbase doesn’t PvP. If Tracer and Reaper can be on the same team in Overwatch, KEK the Orc and Stumpy the Dwarf should be able to run a dungeon together.
