    Horizon: Zero Dawn

If it helps at all I logged back in a couple days after finishing the game and got a whole mess of trophies, so either they patched something or there was some sort of trophy delay/upload issue for my save.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

I made a custom Ryder and I feel less like punching him in the face now. He still has the same voice obviously, but switching to a custom look seems to have removed a certain level of Nathan Drake snarkiness.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

Here's the amusing thing: some people on that staff can actually write / do voice work. If you wander around the idle regions of the Nexus / Tempest / wherever you'll get snippets of conversations going on that are quite good. It's like there was a squad of subversive talented people left...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

So apparently EA Access crashed or something? Possibly lots of people have seen the reviews and jumped on $5 to try the game and see if they wanted to abandon ship.

    Star Wars Rebels

As others mentioned previously: Thrawn has an eidetic memory and will likely notice which planet from his list was replaced when they messed with his stuff. It is telling how much of a nerd I am that I watch that preview above and go "pffft I don't see no Interdictor Class Star Destroyer...

    Oasis

I watched it and enjoyed myself. Certainly has an interesting premise AND since it is based on existing source material they will have a general plot outline in place. Honestly at this point in time if you are launching a new series and aren't basing it on a substantive existing work then you...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

I started over from the beginning last night since there was still time on the EA Access preview and I wanted to see the difference from doing vs not doing the optional missions. Anywho, they do actually address the reason you start out going to Habitat 7, but its almost a throwaway line so...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

I am not generally a save-scummer, but in previous games I did use it occasionally to rewind dialogue. When I first encountered the lack of save functionality I thought it was just because of where I was at the start of the narrative, but that does not seem to be the case. While ME3 had...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

Mac Walters said that eliminating the skill/ability wheel was a feature because they felt that pausing the action to issue commands hindered the flow of combat. They felt that they upped the AI for the companions enough that it was no longer necessary. He seems to be ignoring that the AI...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

There was one truly inspired yet insane individual who was responsible for making all the generic planets in the original Mass Effect have reasonable properties and science factoids for those star systems. I had wanted to reach out to Bioware Montreal about beefing that up for ME:A by including...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

Decided to play some Multi-player tonight and it was quite fun, although the people I got matched with were much less savvy than the ones at PAX it was still a good time. I bet with friends it will be awesome for quite some time .

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

Are these wonky renderings coming exclusively from the PC version or are they from all the platforms? I only ask because PC ports have a somewhat uneven history for simultaneous releases like this. It also is striking that the tech demo that was first shown at E3 something like 2 years ago has...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I am reminded of "ReCore". When Microsoft pulled the plug on it and released it quietly as a bargain bin title last fall me and a buddy were trying to figure out why. The game was pretty decent but clearly not done and I speculated at the time that perhaps Microsoft had gotten word that...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

I Wonder what Bioware Edmonton is working on? It seems clear they just exiled Mac Walters to Montreal to make this and don't seem to have given it much oversight. Anyway I dusted off the Xboner and booted this up with EA Access last night and played for ~2 hours. Including overall comments...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

Finished here too. Sooo freaking good. They left enough hooks that they can mine this IP for a good long while having built an amazing new game world. It's only March but I feel this may already be game of the year for me.

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I'm on the quest where you can get the last power cell for the armor (I looked that up just to see if I was tilting at windmills trying to find them too early) so I know I must be near the end. I was certainly not expecting the level of storycraft that has gone into something that was billed...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

Part of me wonders if the Andromeda Initiative is just a full implementation of the "Golgafrincham" solution from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy : Of course that would make the Reapers a "virulent diseases contracted from a dirty telephone"

We actually started watching the old Channel 4 comedy "The Green Wing" purely to see Michelle Gomez acting completely bonkers. Damn she's awesome.

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

At one point I started to actively hunt critters that have a high wire component drop rate. Lately I've managed to achieve a steady state with my materials gathering / usage through normal activity such that I haven't needed farm common things lately.

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

Without spoiling anything I will say there were several plot elements in the game that I thought were going to go the way of cliche-ridden hackneyed story elements that went a completely different and fairly logical way. These were all fairly minor elements of the overall plot but served to...

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

I did get a chance to play Multiplayer at PAX this past weekend and it was pretty smooth. As mentioned several times in the earlier segments of this thread Bioware Montreal did the multiplayer part of ME3 and they have kept it pretty much intact for this game. The only changes from that format...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

After being off side questing for quite a while (including some of my own making...i.e. "get a goddamn trampler heart for a shadow war bow") I went back to the main plot and I am thoroughly engaged with this to a degree I haven't been in years. I actually don't think Sony is even aware of...

    Marvel's Iron Fist

I don't think they really had a clear vision of what to do with Iron Fist. They knew they needed to have him for the Defenders but there's likely a reason he was the last series they worked on. It seems almost like a rehash of the less entertaining aspects of Daredevil Season 2, hopefully...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

What really sucks is being in a major fight and suddenly realizing that your supply of wood, the stuff that you had collected far too much of early on in the game and therefore ignored for the past several days, is now gone and you can no longer make any arrows. Thankfully my supply of wire...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I hardly ever need to tumble...then again I try never to actually get close to the robodinos. Never underestimate the power of precision targeting of various subsystems. Night and day difference in combat if you are accurate enough with the nicer precision bows.

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

The one groaning moment I had was thinking at the start "this mountain better not be what I think it is..." and then seeing the remains of that ode to concrete majesty: the Air Force Academy chapel. Once ONCE I would like a 'post apocalyptic mountain' to NOT be NORAD.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - Autism reaches outer space

The new "golden worlds" training briefing is up. They do at least mention one world as the best shot for dextroprotein lifeforms / biology to support the Turian and Quarian colonists. This addresses one of the head-scratcher things that was bugging me about the whole Andromeda Initiative and...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I acquired a Shadow Bow and loaded it up with three (1 purple two blue) + Fire damage mods. Then I proceeded to cackle with glee as I set dinos ablazing until I promptly burned through my whole Blaze stockpile and had to start rationing my pyromania. I was wondering why there was a large carry...

    Legion

Shadow King is a major Xmen comic villain, hence the talk about him (especially with the dog that never existed being named 'King'), I also enjoyed the moment when they realize the Benny/Lenny dichotomy and start to put together that David's mind is not the usual sort of place. Well that and...

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I've already been called a heretic to my face because of this, but I am actively enjoying this more than Zelda. Granted I admit that I haven't gotten very far in Zelda since after only a couple hours I found myself jonesin to shoot fire arrows into robodinos and switched back to Horizon. What...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

More than a little surprised that 1-2 Switch doesn't even have a demo. I would have thought the quirky nature of the game would have meant it would be a default pack-in ala WiiSports, but if not then at least a demo so people can try a couple of the minigames.

    The Expanse

Speaking of those military-grade drugs... what are they supposed to be? From the very first episode I have been trying to wrap my brain around what they are meant to do, I mean besides looking like Ketracel White from the Jem Hadar.

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

I did the first "Cauldron" last night and, as Utnanyan mentioned above, discovered that traps should not be ignored and barely managed to beat the 'boss'. Even though I had taken one of those down previously the confines of the space were a massive handicap. I also, only after the fact...

    The Expanse

I'm going to guess Solomon Epstein zipping out of the Solar System at a nice clip is going to be relevant at some point. While part of me thinks it would be cool to just have this mini vignette on the narrative science/engineering, I can't imagine they would have filmed it if it wasn't...
