Anyone ever figure out what the shit is up with the ghost/summoned dragonskin soliders in the snow field? They show up fucking constantly and I've genocided this entire map multiple times now and never found any indication of what is summoning them or why.

I think the biggest issue is that STR in previous Souls games used to also scale your weight limit, so if you went big unga bunga mode you got some amount of the weight issues solved automatically for you, but now you also have to dump 30 or so in to endurance to even use the colossal weapons.

Bosses are never really the issue, it's all the trash mobs and how they scale in the final couple of areas. You suddenly have to treat every trash mob as a boss encounter and circle around them for 30 seconds waiting for a single jump attack opportunity or whatever. It just gets tiresome and...

I did it the "correct" way on my first playthrough because I was just farming those dragons lol. Moonveil was so busted against them that they were trivial to kill and then I kinda accidentally noticed the big dragon was taking damage as I did.

It was only hybrid arcane scaling that didn't work for whatever reason. That sword and the various other INT/DEX and INT/STR swords all worked just fine to varying degrees. The issue with almost all of them though is that the dark moon greatsword exists and is just better.

You can tune down the Moonveil specific numbers all you want, but what's actually busted is the katana weapon art it's based on.

They massively reduced smithing stone prices from merchants, should make trying out a ton of different weapons a real option now. It used to cost something insane like 350k runes to get a normal weapon to like +22 before lol.
