Not in my experience. I never leveled shields and just stacked DEF/HP from level 1 to end game. So for most the game my shields are broken or about to break, which has been great practice for Gley who has no shields. Using LOS and natural cover is paramount as you get further into the game...

Sterile Land Kuiper Blockade is my go to for xp and mastery so far, I've done Kingston but it takes too long to ramp up and you can't speed it up by splitting up and soloing like you can in Sterile Land.

Nice work Xexx, I'm MR11 and have been attempting to farm Gley. So my MSQ prog is at level 47 weapons at the moment. Now that I have Lepic and Bunny at 40, I've got Freyna at 17 so I'll work the MSQ with her I think. Might need a few more levels before I do that.

Try to make a habit of using ALL the weapons to increase your proficiency (to increase your mastery), start at 5, then move on and up. Salvage ALL the things you aren't using or about too, and any duplicates. Defense Infiltration's is a great way to bang out some quick weapon xp.

I believe that character levels (only the first time), quest completions and weapon proficiency levels give Mastery. I've got Lepic at 40, Bunny at like 12 and most of my weapons at around 7 prof. I'm currently second or third mission into the desert area. I'm rank 9 Mastery.

From what I've seen, you can buy everything from the store. Boosters, characters, upgrades, paints, skins, hairstyles. Most of those items can be farmed, including paints this time around. Boosters and hairstyles (skins) look like they are shop only.

Ultimates are also farmable, yes?

Bosses like DeadBride and GraveWalker are 4 player match-made activities. Hard modes of these bosses are also available, and those hard modes feature harder mechanics.

Lepic, Gley and possibly Freyna for me.
