Honestly Resco, the claim that cities are not phased and are still busy is just another time you've put out false statements that you should've known were false. There's just too many times you've put out unsubstantiated bullshit that was untrue in defense of ESO you've lost too much credibility...

#1 thing you can do is build a personal project that is fun, appears technically demanding and easily presentable and understandable. It doesn't have to be profitable or anything anyone would want, just something you're passionate enough to do in the ~6 months you have. If you want ideas list...

Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

Yeah maybe. I think the vision for Star Citizen is going to be very instanced and multiplayer optional though. Honestly I'd love if they redid Eve with a better combat system and engine. I always wanted to play it but can't stand games that have combat I don't enjoy.

Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

No. I'm sure a lot of Eve players will play it, but it's very different from Eve. Eve has one of the best implementations of a living breathing galaxy, Star Citizen is focusing on smaller gameplay with instancing, combat, roleplaying and spending your paycheck on ships.

I'm pretty confident you're wrong about that, do you have any evidence that the cities aren't phased? As far as I know the only zone that isn't phased is Cyrodiil, but it's instanced and I have reason to believe they change the population thresholds dynamically.

I also bought in for selfish reasons. I knew it'd be big and I wanted to buy in asap so I could say I was into SC before it was cool. In truth I bought in a long time ago because I really really really wanted another space combat sim.

Yep. It seems like gear hits a logarithmic soft cap really quickly. Based on the numbers I've seen after 100+ /played we're talking hundreds of dollars to get a 15% edge, right?

I just don't care if someone hits 50k crafting in a couple days, or gets better gear cause they spend $$ to get it.

Yeah small business owners are probably on the other end of the spectrum. They know their cost to earning ratio is what grows their business (among other things), where as a salesman feels he needs to increase his display of spending to make more sales.

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

From what I hear the people with real problems are those who feel obligated to spend a lot of money, ex: salesmen who feel they don't have credibility if they don't have an expensive clothes, watch, car and house.

I don't go out often because I'm a lazy introvert, but when I do I usually pay for my friends who aren't making a lot of money currently. I don't really think much of it, I figure they'd do the same for me. But if I went out 3+ times a week I'd probably start to resent it.

Expecting it to launch smoothly and balanced is one thing. The community seeing huge design flaws a year before release, reporting them over and over and finally being told to stop reporting it, and then seeing those same flaws cripple a game is a totally different thing.
