You tell yourself whatever you need to. "Scraping" typically means trying to gather data from webpages themselves, not through backend queries. And you can run scripts in game that return the same data they are retrieving via whatever API they are calling. Like this one to track hidden artifact...

You don't "scrape" an API. You call the API to get data. What calls are they making? Where can I go to make those calls myself to get the data for my character. It's as simple as running /script in game usually. That's what I want to do.

Vanilla WoW was definitely not even close to this trivial during the levelling process. You could actually die even on non-elite quests while solo.
