They jumped the gun with ray tracing. Yea it's going to be big in the future, but we're still at least a few generations away from having ray tracing effects that will actually matter to gamers. And it's probably gonna be 10 years before we see a game that is drawn fully by rays instead of...
I skipped through it, you can barely make out what people are saying. I guess there's some douchebag that is in a power position on the server named Torq? A mongoloid who went crazy with power on a private server... and in other news water is wet.
The new Logitech G software lists a 'Logitech G MX518' as supported, so it looks like they are going to bring it back with all the new bells and whistles fairly soon.
Blizzard cutscenes are laughably over the top. They make it seem like a single player game. And I've hated cutscenes since Skyrim - the world is much more believable when it doesn't cut away from controlling your character.
Having not played since Vanilla I can say so far it doesn't even feel like an MMO anymore, more like a multiplayer hub with matchmaking. There is zero reason to interact with people while leveling. And my god the cutscenes... I've skipped 95% of them.
Blizz was able to restore my 13 year old account from my first ever character on Skullcrusher. Holy fuck the flashbacks. First MMO I ever played and my guildmates who were old EQ players first told me about FoH. Didn't play BC because they were all going to try Vanguard which launched a week...
VG used a modified Unreal 2.5 engine. It was not good for large scale MMO's or rendering massive amounts of art assets. VG probably had the largest world of any game at the time and had ~20 gigabytes of art assets... in 2005. Unity is probably 100x more efficient at building an MMO.
It was alright, as you guys were saying it's more uncomfortable than scary. It's more of a melodrama with people just screaming at each other than it is a horror film.
I got through half of it before I fell asleep. It really was a little sloppily put together, a lot scenes where the dialogue or reactions didn't feel natural.
