It's definitely annoying early game when all you have is starter weapons, but past like level 20 I don't think it was ever an issue for me. Only time it was ever a problem was when I +10'd my Black Knight Axe not thinking about it and couldn't swing it more than 5 times without it exploding.

Yea parrying quickly loses its luster outside central yarnham ogres/werewolves. Much easier to just chop everything to bits, as none of it really has enough HP to bother risking the parry.

It matters a shit ton more if you like to use the halberd weapons. Black Knight halberd especially is a joke as if you misjudge a swing ever once and clip a mode with the haft it dies almost instantly. Most 1h swords/maces etc it never really matters much.

The 1h R1 attacks scale almost entirely with skill. It also does scale with arcane, just very poorly.

Yea awakening is killer expensive, so much so that for some classes it isn't even worth doing right away. I'm still farming iron/hardener for the first one on my Witch =\ Leveling slows down pretty good in the 50s though, so you'll be grinding plenty of dungeons to get mats and drops.

I encourage all of you to pick Stairs and run full AP. The salt is real when people get oneshot by W+Q+auto and you literally never die with perma ult and infinite heals.

I have no idea how people didn't enjoy DS2. I put far more time in to that game than any of the others. Demon's Souls is actually unplayable for me due to it looking like a rotten foot and barely holding 20fps in most areas.
