I dunno about Backstrom... I liked it, but it was clearly pretty much just derivative of "Let's take House, but put him in a police procedural". Then again , as mentioned above,Luciferis "What if Castle was the Devil... in a police procedural" so you might have a point.

The wife and I also think it's part of the cross. Although the Yggdrasil angle would work as well.

Somewhat annoyed with the CBS/Netflix feud. As I want to actually binge this to get ready for the Flash crossover. Time to go hit the darker corners of the interwebs I suppose....

Downside : I guessed what was in the container in the spoilers last week... Upside : Tom Ellis continues to just kill it in the title role. I want to be upset that this is essentially "Castle with the Devil instead" the same way I have issues with iZombie as "Veronica Mars... with zombies!"...

Wife and I watched this... we both loved it. I agree it's fun watching the devil troll humans. Apparently looking at the upcoming scenes he starts to lose some of his "powers", which makes me think he'll have to recenter around being less "good" at some point to keep things rolling.

My hypothesis is that he will dump them into the now jacked up Lazarus pit and it will purify the pit, while bringing back Savage. Side theory is that the pits are somehow tied to or were created by Savage (immortal blood begets immortal hot tub), so the league has an eternal debt/arrangement...

Watched the first four episodes with the wife and we're really enjoying it. Full disclosure : I haven't read the books. But is it going to keep reminding me of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress every couple episodes? I know there are significant differences, and maybe it's just my nostalgic love...
