I quit because of the ridiculous DDR wow type raids on steroids. Had a few mouth breathers in our guild that were completely incapable of executing perfectly (sarcasm obviously) sowe just couldn't stop wiping on some fights. Shit is way too tightly scripted these days.

Did you just compare realistic MMO graphics to a FPS? Every attempt at realistic graphics has failed miserably and suffered bad endgame engine issues. Can't have more than 10 people on the screen but least I have 1337 graphix dude! Am I doing it right?!

EQ2 was fun as hell in the beginning. Some classes were gimped though (Encs specifically). Some aggrieved systems didn't work. Heal aggro was wonky and mana regen aggro was worse than that (double fuck you to Encs). Buff stacking lead to massive exploiting and the duration of buffs only lasting...

Probably because PCs vary too much. With a console, everyone has the same specs so its easier to optimize for. The average PC gamers machine couldn't run the game most likely.

You guys are really underestimating the appeal of MMOs on consoles, IMO. EQOA with a controller on a couch was tons of fun and with the next gen consoles getting more MMOs, expect to see most growth in the MMO sector in the console space.

I predict the game will launch late this year. Q1 2014 at latest. The art assets have been done for a long time. Redoing the game after the hard parts are done shouldn't take too long. Plus, Smed said we'd be playing it later this year "and not a beta".

Last I checked, even XBL doesn't host servers for most online games. The players do. It's my bandwidth. So what are they charging me for again? Especially since the PC players get this stuff free. And games do depreciate in value.

We're getting a tad picky. It doesn't look that bad. I didn't care for WoW's art style either at first. Then it grew on me. I'd rather have something that has a distinct style and runs smoothly than the claymation models of EQ2

Why do publishers feel they are entitled to a cut of used game sales? If I buy a car and resell the vehicle, does the manufacturer of that vehicle get a cut of that sale? Is their any other industry that's allowed to do that?

As long as combat is all about max DPS, tactics and strategy seem to take a back seat to "the rotation". The minute combat rewards the person with tactics and strategy, you have a point. Most MMOs it doesn't and ability bloat is definitely an issue.
