It's not nearly as bad as it was with Dominaria. That format had so many draw spells and historic loops. So many turn 1 or 2 wins.

Well 2 color decks should be pretty easy, but 3 color decks should have a real cost to their manabase. 4-5 color decks should be very rare in Standard.

My issue with Theros Standard was that the devotion decks were largely the same with Theros as they were later on. Also I generally liked Scrylands, 3 color mana bases should come at a cost, even if it's just 8+ of your lands always coming into play tapped. I also rather enjoyed the 1 Elixir...

Scrylands back in m20. I feel like there being a cost to playing 3 color manabases in Standard is good and that having mana as good as it is now should be rare and centered around gold card centric blocks like Ravnica.

Core sets are the same size as large expansions. There's plenty of limited cards and trash in every set. What you don't get in core sets nearly as much is linear mechanics like blocks get.

Well the core sets back then were absurdly powerful. But in general, they were getting used as ways of controlling standard/extended by reprinting whatever they didnt necessarily want in the blocks. In 2009 they started adding new cards to core sets with M10 and that's been how it's gone since...
