Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

Oh and a big problem they have is a massive conflict of interest. Their profit vehicles are all based on pokestops and lures, which is the most boring way to play game. The most fun way to play the game involves exploring new areas which they aren't yet monetizing.

They've said from the start they want to have sponsored locations. It makes total sense because I think those locations will generally be lured 24/7. You already have that with businesses luring themselves. The big question surrounding this "Niantic has a lot of power" is whether they can keep...

Ok, all the emails from RR have been sent out. I am curious if anyone who was registered there, had 10+ posts and had a valid email address did not get one. I am afraid that spam-filters got activated partially through the email blast.

I don't believe this to be true. Unless it's changed I believe that all pokemon spawn either because of lures, incense or static spawn locations. The static spawns correspond to XM Pools. I hope they allow their database to be used or licensed in some way for future MMARGs. The pokemon game...

This is correct and the dependence on XM pools is a big gap in the game. I expect that it's a surmountable gap for them, especially with the current revenue they have. If they can secure the data for it, a very simple thing to really improve the game would be to give a broad increase in pokemon...

There's a bunch of old guilds, LotD is one of the few that is still active (and PRX ofc). Few are older than UO/EQ, so this community is in that tier. But the top ranks in terms of age are always going to be the communities that started out with MUDs or neverwinter. Not many are around. I'd...

In terms of priority I can't argue. The question I have is whether, long term, this game will attempt to capitalize on the very profitable lure-hubs and sponsored pokestops. If so I don't really have much interest in it.

There's basically two valid complaints here: 1. The game would be better if it catered to exploring the "wilderness" outside of densely packed urban environments. 2. The game's original design demonstrated here: Is widely divergent, and better, from running a tight, dense circuit of pokestops...

The pokemon are server side, not client side. If they were client side, Tyen would be drowning in Mewtwos. However pokemon from lures haven't shown up on the tracker before for whatever reason. I don't know how I feel about the tracker changes. Obviously they're useless for anywhere but...

There's a way to create a VPN that will snifff packets going through and tell you the IV, I almost installed it but decided to just go through the normal methods to find the IV. It's not 100% guaranteed but it's accurate enough.

The problem is that it's trivial for Niantic to add layers of authentication to prove it's a legit app. That's what happened with the map hacks / bots. They reverse engineered the authentication, but it's trivial for niantic to either break it again by changing it, or they can improve the...

I don't have access to do that, which makes me regret not pushing Teljair harder to get real admin access to the forum. He probably wouldn't have given it, but I could have pushed harder. The administrator tag I have is actually pretty weak, there is very little I can do on the site.

Would be a lot of fun to travel to catch specific pokemon, but you really have no idea where to travel to unless you just want to revisit areas with high amounts of lures or a high number of pokestops. Ex: I'd love to travel to a different city if I knew there was an abra farm there.

Worth is relative to how much time you plan on playing the game. Right now the game is essentially beta without a real endgame, but it's very likely the endgame will consist of building up a team of perfect pokemon. If you only need a few dragonites, soon enough Dratini candy will become...

What trainer level are you? If you've been able to get a lot of candy and aren't too high level, you'll probably continue to get a lot of candy. The answer to this question depends on how much do you want a tough dragonite now, and how long do you plan on playing? If you have zero good...

What's interesting about the impact of IV is that when viewed as a percent of the total CP it doesn't seem that impactful, but when viewed in relation to the impact of leveling up they are much more important. Ex: when I go from 30 to 31, I can level my 80% IV Snorlax from 2661 to 2704. But if...

Thanks for doing the calculations with the silph road calculator. This has become a semantic debate and I don't think anyone cares, but the IV is essentially an additive window of power, and 100% IV achieves the maximum of that window. level 24 Snorlax 100% IV: 2134CP, 100% maximum possible CP...

This is numerically false because, roughly, a 95% Snorlax at level 24 will have some 2100IV, and a 0% snorlax will have some 1900IV or something.

You don't know shit about pokemon you fuckin dick! IV is the Individual Value, or the hidden attribute that determines it's potential. In PoGo it's a combination of their attack, defense and stamina. If you have a Pokemon with 0% IV, once you max it out it'll have less CP than another...
