It’s pretty easy to start in FFXIV. It can be a little culture shock at first, but once you figure it out, it’s pretty great.

Regarding Sam, you need to get it to at least 60 to start feeling better. Once you hit that, you get the Kenki bar resource and eventually a bunch of moves that act as filler attacks that aren't subject to the GCD/can cancel animations, as well as mobility enhancements.

I think the thing that might help is using different characters to keep things interesting for a bit. Next month they are releasing new weapons and heroes, so that will help if they can keep up stuff. New map /w different mechanics could be cool, also.
