Are you manually targeting or using lock on? I tend to manually with the larger bosses as the lock on gets funky switching between body parts

Most of those quests can be finished whenever. The big things that start locking out quests is progressing passed fire giant in the story line.

One or two of his attacks he does 2 handed, when he finishes the attack he stops for 2-3 seconds to reequip his shield. So dodge back until he does a 2hand attack, then hit him one or two times while he's reequiping his shield.

The two in Nokron can be cheesed from ledges, either by sniping or by baiting them to dive off with their wing attack

Vigor doesn't really scale great over 50 and at 50 you still need almost two health pots to heal to full. You can pump some endurance if you want to upgrade to a great shield over the brass
