Gating mobs, meteors, shaman heals means PoP Era. So if everyone did their job you didn't have to what you call exciting and dangerous. Namely if you have a FD puller you literally have to slow a single mob as shaman maybe put some dots on it while the tank tanked and healers healed and dps...
