People tend to us the term "Kid's show" when they mean "Family show". Now, family show has pretty wide ranges...people have considered everything from Chuck, Doctor Who, and SG:1 as family shows. As a general rule:
1) They tend to have comedy/humor elements
2) They never get too explicit...
Non-instanced competition (which usually results in griefing) is just anti -social socilization...essentially pvp in a pve environment. It can make for "interesting" situations sometimes, but it isn't anymore social than fragging someone in a shooter and teabagging their corpse.
The "resume" feature is on players, though. Games have made it easier to gauge player power, so people try to weed out the "weak". That has pretty much existed in every MMO. Unless you want to go back to a no-damage meter/"what the f do stats do?" model, you will never escape that in any game...
Cataclysm was a good opportunity to update the fairly dated world and old quests. On that front, they succeeded pretty well. The revamped Redridge for Alliance = the funniest questline I have ever done in a MMO.
Lester said it was rosin and the Cardinals manager even mentioned he doesn't care (because his pitchers do the same thing no doubt). Cardinals lost game 1 because they sucked, not because Lester had flubber in his glove.
Non-combat crafting/roles took a hit when bots and slave-wage Asian goldsellers moved to corner the market in a way that made it harder for "real" players to compete. You had a slow creep later in EQ1 and to me it became worse starting with FFXI and moving forward.
I can understand fucking with the ball physically (nail file or whatever), but drying/wetting a hand seems no different than pinetar on a bat handle to me.
The ump later admitted he was just looking at the feet and never saw what happened to the ball.
The Lester thing doesn't prove anything. Grip on a ball doesn't change the fact you still need to not pitch like shit. He was ace that game.
How can you hate this year's Sox team? They're pretty likable.
Anyways, Cards gifted that game with all the fuck ups they did on the field. I'm also glad they overruled that 2nd base umpire early in the game...I don't care what team you support, that was a dogshit call and even the other...
Burning is an efficient means of controlling disease. Hundreds of zombie corpses would make for a health hazard in the long run (ground water contamination, fir starters).
I mean, what else can they do? Dig a mass grave w/o heavy machinery?
GC had made a posted reply to a player's concerns about a tank shortage in LFR. Really it comes down to the fact that tanks in many cases end up leading the raid. When people are being derps in LFR, it's very hard to resist leaving. Now with flex, many tanks that wanted something a bit...
Unless your game is turn based or has extremely slow combat, you're going to want some twitch. Standing behind a dragon just auto-attacking/pressing some dps button every x seconds ends up putting you to sleep.
Raids still need prep, but for the most part they have tried to eliminate...
Even if they had stone/concrete walls or moats or whatever, thousands of walkers would doom them if they lingered and didn't move along. It would basically become a seige and the humans would run out of provisions.
WoW raiding is more complex now that it was during WOTLK. Some encounters require smaller groups to handle side tasks during the fight (bird nests in ToT, towers during the harbor fight in SoO), many fights require interupts, cc, on the spot dps (General Naz comes to mind). They are also...
Contested spawns led to far more anti-social behaviors, if one was to use the actual definition of the term (training, griefing, exploits, etc). Being a dick != social.
Don't have to retcon. The innate ability still requires certain types of movements to obtain certain results. So for instance, a person might have air bending as a skill, but perhaps they didn't really master it until they copied the movements of certain attuned animals? The original idea was...
Basically it is "age bias" on our parts. Much like people in their 30s/40s will think music/media/etc that teenagers or what not is shit, they also don't associate much with that crowd, creating social disconnects.
The guard tower has been the "sexy time" spot for Glenn and Maggie for a couple seasons now, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is why they missed the rat feeder.
His jugular was torn out...he isn't going to be able to do shit because he would be gone in seconds after bleeding out/his brain getting no oxygenated blood. Granted, unless the Tenchu zombies are masters at stealth kills, you'd figure that someone eventually would get bit in a less vulnerable...
Ya, the dude that got munched was just some extra. That's gotta be a pretty shitty way to wake up...with your throat missing ;p
I'm guessing that the dude feeding rats to the walkers to make them gather at the fence was hidden in the death row section, which is why he killed Tyreese's GF and...
It's a fallacy to think that all past game designers were successful, as much as it is to consider all current to be unsuccessful (and vice versa). Products do evolve for a reason, though. Discounting nostalgic revivals, by and large most genres have evolved quite a bit (while keeping the...
