AFib doesn’t cause PE it’s mainly a risk factor for stroke. You’ll probably be on lifelong anticoagulation BECAUSE they don’t know what caused it. Generally the first event is 3-6 months and if it happens a 2nd time you’re stuck for life unfortunately.
