I appreciate the 'less trick fighting more omg I'm gonna die' style of combat in the fight scenes. Lots of kill-confirm double taps and doing whatever it takes to take the other guy out. Jai Courtney is also underappreciated so it's good to see him get work.

That was a decent amount of location shooting they did, and a respectable chase scene!

The comics were just a totally different deal. The first few volumes mainly involved examination of various tropes and parody of existing supes / superhero teams from Marvel and DC. The fun was in seeing just how incredibly fucked up each was. The show has a much MUCH stronger overall narrative.

Given the timescales, and the boots on Mars shot from the end of season 2, I kinda felt we would have some time-skips. We have had them before, they were just smaller and mostly every episode in season 1 vs a big on here.

You just know they intentionally put a lot of meaningful story beats and powerful character moments into this episode just for the sheer glee at nominating it for an Emmy next year and thus compelling the academy members to watch.

This expansion has me intrigued. It was great fun going through the story with buds, it just fell apart with the endgame

Tron 2.0, the game, was actually a decent evolution of the overall theme. With something like TRON you just have to be willing to embrace it as a fantasy rather than trying to ground it in any type of reality.

I'm honestly surprised it did $51M. The last few PIXAR movies have been released straight to Disney+ and even Encanto didn't really take off in terms of public perception until it hit D+ at Xmas. People have kinda got it programmed now that animated Disney = Disney+. Encanto hit $28.7M...
