I've read on Reddit that Ghastly spawn in the UK during the daytime. People speculated that's because it's not based on local time but one set time per continent, or even one set time for the entire world. There's just not that much research into Day/Night spawns yet.

If It makes you feel better I just wasted a bunch of candy and dust leveling up a Golem because it kept swapping between my two Golems as their CP overlapped and I didn't notice. Couldn't even get the one I wanted to level to max. Fuck.

I have 8 pokemon I'm keeping at max right now, and sitting on 400k dust. It's still going up rather than down so I can splash out now and then on powering up a new pokemon from 20-28.5

Nice catch. Not quite, my commute is a walk. I can still hit pokestops on the train though. Just gotta time it right. Pokemon only pop up at stations though. It's probably more related to how stable your GPS connection is. You gotta hit stuff as it comes up rather than when it's on top of you.

If I need the candy for it for my pokedex or if it's a Dratini, I use berry/ultra, otherwise it gets a great ball.

What about Abra? Feed it a berry, throw a curved Ultraball at it, I've never had one run away on me.
