I’ve got some money in FUSE as it’s getting a bit of buzz at the moment, but researching others as well.

My plan is always to sell SPACs before merger.

GHIV is pretty fascinating in that it definitely didn’t act like most other SPACs upon merger vote, which was this morning. Down 50 cents on open. Glad I sold yesterday...weird. It even got a Jim Cramer mention among other shows and podcasts.

I’m out of GHIV, Alec Gores isn’t even my real dad. Sold at a marginal $500 loss out of almost $24,000. Still up $1000 for the past couple weeks all in all. Far too much opportunity cost lost on this thing as it is, probably could have made a few thousand last week. Everyone is saying...

GHIV, ugh. I’m more or less at parity. Opened up almost 2 percent and I thought it was going to march upwards but noooo. Let’s see what happens by this afternoon.

That plan has 4 days left! 😂 I think there’s a good chance this thing is gonna possibly go really well after they announce earnings in early February (all signs indicate they had another record year) but I’m not holding it past Tuesday.

Yeah everything is really great here in GHIV land too. They just put in a Ferris wheel, a petting zoo, and I’m told Bobby McFerrin was hired for a show in the middle of the park later today.

There doesn’t look to be any hype around these, barely any discussion on the usual sites. While they’re safe buys in so far as you won’t lose anything on them, these aren’t going to do anything any time soon, so your money is just gonna sit there for potentially a year or more. My personal...

Hmm. Would have been nice if they announced earnings pre merger. CEO said they had the best year in company history but couldn’t say more.

Might pay out well for you, too risky for me. Since I’m saying this of course it’ll go to $25.

I’ll hold through the weekend. Merger is on Wednesday, so one way or the other I’m dumping Tuesday. There’s a lot of hype about it going high after earnings in first week of Feb but I am not taking that risk.

GHIV has been wasting my time all week. Could have invested elsewhere and made really good gains this week. I’m starting to even doubt it’s going to pop next week pre merger. And of course Tilray is killing it again.

And Tilray is way up today — which of course I sold a few thousand dollars worth yesterday at $12.99.

This is not at all scientific, but here’s my method, and it’s simple and has been working, more or less what Fogel said. See what’s being hyped here, on SPACS on Reddit (there are numerous subreddits regarding them,) Stocktwits (awful site with crummy people but good for seeing what’s hyped,)...

All of the above is why I like putting money in SPACs as an amateur. 10-11 is safest but 12s is more or less okay also...you can never really lose that much if you get out before mergers. It’s rather mindless really. I’ve been following the hype around things before they get hot and routinely...

noice! I’m sitting here working at home listening to Matt Ishibia’s UWM call. Just a pep talk for people who are considering them as their broker. Apparently people thought it was going to be earnings related which was never a fact.

GHIV can’t get legs for shit thus far. Still totally expecting it to run towards $15 in the coming week with the merger approaching.

I have friends who have a 4 man real estate investment group. They set up a corporation and bought a few duplexes and townhouses around. They bought in the early 2000s so obviously they’re sitting high right now. Implications are destroying friendships and whatnot if things go bad. 😜

Not that I know shit about shit, but just logically, it seems like something has to give. From what I can see SPACs are essentially risk free. You buy near $10, it can’t go lower than like $9.50 even in worst case scenario?, then when they get close to voting on a merger the price invariably...
