Plot wise things are in a weird place by the end of the game. The main crux of the games narrative is completed, but there's a lot of plot threads that are left open for the DLC.
BL2 ended with the revelation that the Pandoran key was actually a map to all these other vaults and a promise to...
The merch came out today for Triple Force Friday, but had a devil of a time finding anything in stores. Finally managed to score the figures I wanted (Sith Trooper, Knight of Ren and my boy Poe) at the only Target in the area that actually had put their stock out on the shelves.
Finished this last night. The ending was VERY bioware, it followed the Mass Effect / Dragon Age formula to a T even including the touching goodbye to your romantic partner before the final battle etc.
The overall setting was very cool and the general theme was interesting, but the game...
It would be fun if WoW classic splintered off into a different direction via subtle shift. Like if the Gilnean wall came down before Burning Crusade and the new races were Blood Elf and Worgen instead of Blood Elf and Draenei...
Anything would be more interesting than what we see in the...
Is there a good listing of what Fast Travel point to use for each boss? Was doing some yesterday on Mayhem 1 and kept having to rack my brain / squint at maps to figure out which location corresponded to what boss. Some of them are clearly much closer to Fast Travel points than others.
So finished the plot last night and unlocked the various endgame modes. What should we be doing? Just turn on Mayhem 1 and go to semi-random places in the game to kill bosses and things?
Just did Graveward last night (first playthrough). How close are we to the end of the main story? We've been pretty completist and doing all side quests etc.
Its always weird that the world depicted in the cinematic is functionally different than the game we play, especially when it comes to healing or really most magical abilities beyond the most basic effect. It would be more interesting, in my opinion, to address head-on the very thin veil that...
Was rebuilding home theater the last couple weeks (it's purdy!) so just got caught up with eps 2&3. It's clear that they decided to double down on DC Universe-y stuff with this second season and it's paying off already.
Very excited to see where they go with this, especially as the cast...
Just got a new work lappy and I gotta say the USB-C display port seems like witchcraft. Power + HD display + mouse + keyboard all over a single cable? Was fun ditching the damn dock that's for sure.
I just got to the part depicted in the screenshot above and am still quite pleased with the game. It definitely scratches that Bioware itch in a way that Anthem could never possibly hope to do.
There are some logic holes in the plotline progression where information is available to you...
This is really shaping up to be the definitive live action Crisis. I really do wonder if they will merge all the TV versions into one so we have Flash, Supergirl, Doom Patrol/Titans, Krypton all in one universe.
The game is naturally easier with at least 1 other player owing to how it was designed as a co-op title. The ability to pick your buddy up, split the targeting of a big boss and even run in after dying all make the content smoother.
Plus you have another set of ears to catch all the subtle...
I figure the Dark Asher reveal is itself a fake-out. We are meant to see that the Dark One is just a scary story when in fact it's just some rudimentary corpse-splicing that is going on.
Then later down the road it can be revealed that corpse splicing and related Fae necromancy is a direct...
Okay so last night we did a family friendly movie night and showed Avenger's Endgame to a packed house of nerds and their kids. Having now seen, first hand, the reaction that the A-Force scene created in several girls age 8-13 I get it. Its still contrived and could have been done much more...
Ahh crap! I knew I recognized her from somewhere and did not realize that it was the same actress who had played her in the mysterious-yet-rumored-to-be-just-awful GoT pilot.
I just think its awesome that they commissioned The Heavy to make this song for the game. After the first two there was no way you could have a different band do the opening theme.
Having fun so far. I always forgot about grenades in BL so playing as Zane and using the second Action Skill in place of the grenade is ideal. Best friend is playing as FL4K and we're doing fine so far, though in the first couple hours ammo has been a serious issue.
Too many fucking...
Its fun that PC Master Race wins out on the global launch. I had not carefully looked at the graphic before and am happily surprised I can play this tonight.
I figured the whole reason for Unseelie Jack in the first place was so they could communicate to the audience -- "yeah you think we're doing Jack the Ripper given the setting, but we arent and here's proof -- we just did it!"
I picked it up because I'm a sucker for a Bioware title. (Also my best friend will kick me in the balls if I play Borderlands without him so I need something to play when he's not around)
It does lack the polish of controls one would expect from a title like this and the textures etc do get...
As for 'where was the scientist character?' I feel pretty confident that we will get some sort of scientist in the second season. Either some mechanical genius refugee from the Pact that the Burgh is wanting to butter up for technology secrets or some bio/zooilogical type ALA the opening...
To be fair I too often find myself trying the most diplomatic options in these sorts of games. I ended up with both the Quarian AND Geth participating in the Battle of Earth in Mass Effect 3 etc.
Many times in these games I have a visceral reaction when I try to go 'off-brand' in terms of...
I can empathize with this because you know everytime you are encouraged to rush that there is some collectible or JACK upgrade hidden nearby. The quasi-open world nature in ACT 2 where you can find side-quests is a bit of a departure from what I always thought of as a very linear series.
I...
The most damning review so far comes from PC Gamer -- "An endless font of bad jokes and cool guns in the series' most vapid story yet, Borderlands 3 skates by on watching numbers fly and goons explode. "
Which is exactly what I want from a Borderlands game so I'm good.
