I've heard if you close your client and re-open it after each evolve click you can get more evolves in, as re-loading is faster than the evolve animation. Also Pokémon Go Players Are Breaking Gyms With An Egg Glitch can anyone confirm this egg glitch?

That bonus is for every 100 of a certain pokemon type you catch. You can check in the Pokedex how many you have caught. There's also a 50xp bonus for the 10th unique Pokestop you hit in a row, and that pokestop will give at least 6 items.
