David Johnson is an easy cut that is $6M by himself. You're also only focusing on the total dead cap number and not how much cap space in total is cleared by him leaving. Not that anyone wants to eat dead cap, but in truth this year is the ONLY year the dead cap hit exceeds the total savings...

Does this include calculations like rollover cap from last year? A lot of places I'm seeing after releasing Watt the Texans have something like ~5-10M in cap space. Trading Watson only incurs an extra $5M and change to this year's cap. Releasing David Johnson would save $6M or so, as well...

Not sure why they'd need to upgrade the teleport station. You already get an Oro portal at level 3, set your hearth in your faction home and you can get around anywhere quick. With the Oro port, Maw just a hop away and Torghast right next door to where you zone in there already.

That's actually pretty crazy, although I'm not sure 2 titles, even when back to back, quite qualify for dynasty. You do 3 in 4, or the sustained dominance the Pats did for basically 20 years...those are dynasties.

The money they're paying him isn't that much at all. Around Bridgewater/Alex Smith money. After this year they could cut him with 0 dead cap money. He'll have something like the ~15th highest cap hit among QB's this year (that's right now before any deals are signed this offseason).

Ben is better than that version of Petyon, though. But I agree it needs to be a big time D push. They have talent enough at receiver, though, that he could still do a little damage with the O. Clearly they're going to have to restructure his contract, though.

I think with their defense, Ben can be decent enough that they at least are a playoff team with the potential to upset someone. Their defense is great, but without him they have to play amazing to just be 8-8 team.

They have no plan behind him currently. If they drop/move him, they are not a threat as a contender until they get a new real QB.
