I had a similar realization as Dudebro. I'm not saying BL2 was even a bad game. I played it over 100 hours. That makes it a fantastic game in my book. But the end game is left wanting.

It would make sense to operate that way. The group stages was nothing more than simply seeding into the tournament. Like someone said above Alliance can lose 3 games and get out and MUFC can lose 1 game and get out. Dominating the groups doesn't really mean a whole lot.

Well you need some cash on hand to buy ammo. Since that scales with level you require sometimes a decent amount if you fired off all your SMG and rockets. But there isn't much a point which is why they added crystals/torgue tokens/eridum as more "end game" currency.
