I'm guessing the upload site takes whatever you upload and the automatically incorporates it into their shitty download manager. I don't know. Maybe it's a virus. I didn't get it, but I'm going with what seems to be the most logical explanation from what I saw on that page.

RE: Digging down - the actual underground isn't in yet, so not much point beyond farming the ore nodes you see from the surface. As far as the questions about "what about plots when it launches", I wouldn't even worry about that shit yet. If they don't fix those kinds of issues before it...

It doesn't matter. You can freely switch server/zones in game.

If I had to recommend, I would say wait for closed beta. They sold way too many alpha accounts, so it's alpha problems(which are to be expected) with the population of an actual live launch.
