Its an MMO set in a time prior to current BDO, far enough back that only a little will be recognizable. The "single player" content is just the Story campaign. Not sure where Massively got the "survival" part from. The reveal presentation was pretty badly done, or the translations were.

I'm curious how Blizz will make Lilith be the "bad guy", considering her existing lore. If they set her up as wanting to cull the weak from humanity, and rule the rest while shutting Sanctuary off from Heaven / Hell, that would make a bit of sense? Then we would be sent to Hell to free the only...

That is sorta what I want to see, an "evil" Nephalem that we as the MC need to deal with, since as far as I know, we've never had to do that before (outside of a "test").

I'll take Lilith's Summoning over any of the cutscene's presented here for artistry and drama, the last two minutes are the best Blizz Cinematics has ever done. As for telling a piece of lore for the game / franchise? Not sure, but I think the D2's cinematic edges out Tyreal's sacrifice slightly.

I don't disagree with you completely, but I do like the idea of Lilith being her own faction. Could make for some interesting stories if Blizz is up to the task.

They can't though. The Humans in the Diablo universe are the offspring of Angels and Demons. Inarius and many other angels/demons want to kill them all, but Lilith killed most of those... then got banished by Inarius (who then made the Nephalem become weak Humans).

If the Lore about Lilith is to believed, or to be followed by Blizz (lol), then she doesn't have much respect for the Prime Evils at all, and would only use them to further her own designs. They could remain rotting in whatever place they are for all she cares. I imagine her ultimate goal is to...

I dunno. The graphics are really sharp and detailed, compared to D3's overall smoothness. I guess I'd like a bit more color, but not enough to make people freak out like they did with D3.

Well yea, they are showing the core of the game that will be D4. Everything could change, for the better or the worse. I'm thinking Jan-Mar 2021.

They will have MTX in a shop, but I didn't quite hear the Dev's answer about transmog.

I'm not seeing the "looks like a mobile" game as I've been watching gameplay streams. Animations and combat seem as smooth as D3, just not as flashy. Color palette is a lot more toned down, of course, which to me (as a fan of D3) is pretty jarring. I imagine this really is an alpha version, so...

You're right. I think the gameplay vid didn't do a good job at showing off what they plan D4 to be, which says the game itself is pretty far away. The D3 gameplay reveal was much better, so as of right now, I'm just happy that they are working on D4.

Was there something wrong with the D3 engine? Gameplay was smooth as butter no matter what was on the screen. The new art style looks nice.

Release is a long way off, I think. Gameplay vid seemed like it needed some polish. Style looked good though!
